Three national parties (Indira Congress, Janata Party and Samata Party) to lose their recognition as national parties as they failed to get the minimum required support in the general election to the 11th Lok Sabha.

8/6/1920Film Censor Board at Bombay started working. The first film censored and granted a Censor Certificate No. 1 was a short film of 600 ft., produced by Gaumont Company and it was titled as 'Gaumont Graphic No. 963-964'. The Regional Film Censor Boards were also set-up in Calcutta, Madras and Rangoon.

12/28/1928First talkie feature film 'Melody of Love' was released in India. The film was made by Universal Picture Corporation, America. It's premier was held at Elphinstone Picture Palace, Calcutta.
10/14/1930The Flag of Freedom' or 'Swaraj Toran' a feature film produced by Prabhat Film Co.Kolhapur was prohibited by the Censor Board on October 14, 1930 on the grounds that it was objectionable in the existing political situation. The film, however, was cleared only after deleting certain portions and the title changed to 'Udaykal'.
