Hello,,,,I am in detroit MI. I got a job in POrtland and planning to move there. But lil bit scared too.. How is the City? Is there and IT and engineering opportunity? My husband is in IT and I am Mechanical Engineer Design. Can you pls give me some idea about the market? Thanks for your opinion... and idea.ABC
We used to live in Detroit and Indiana before moving here a year ago. Definately dont miss the Detroit snow. We get hardly any snow here. The rain gets quite dreary, but it makes the greenery and flowers so lush and vibrant. It is also a healthier lifestyle than in Detroit and we love it.
portland is a great place. We moved from south bend, Indiana, about a year back. we have really enjoyed this place. Great outdoor places. Lot of indian restaurants/groceries. There is a decent indian crowd. Cost of living is a bit more, compared to South bend, IN. My advice to you is... Pack your bags and move!! u will like it...
Hi,The city is really nice. Also, there are lot of IT companies in and around Portland area. Only thing you need to worry about is the rain. It rains a lot. I dont want to scare you but just want to let you know. You will have 3-4 months of summber and 5-7 months of rains. Temparature will be around 20-30 degrees in winter and in summber it will be around 70 - 95 degrees. Almost there are 400-500 families in this area.Best of Luck.
